About Us

Springwood Community Centre enables individuals and groups to achieve their potential, share experiences and expertise, overcome existing barriers and build an integrated and supportive community.

Springwood Community Centre achieves its Mission through:

  • Provision of learning, recreation, support and information opportunities
  • Assisting in the development of Community Projects
  • Supporting existing and new special interest groups
  • Providing a meeting space for groups in the community
  • Actively encouraging members of the community to participate in the running of the centre
  • Assisting people to develop responses to issues which affect them and their local community

The beliefs which guide our work are:

  • Every person has the right to equal access to services, information and resources.
  • The Community Centre belongs to the local community and must be responsive to their needs.
  • People have the ability to help themselves but they might need some support and information to get started.
  • Fees are necessary to cover the running costs of the centre activities but they will be kept to a minimum.
  • Assisting people to develop responses to issues which affect them and their local community
  • To show that the Springwood Community Centre does not advocate, support, or practice unlawful discrimination based on age, ethnicity, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, discriminating in hiring, compensation, access to training or services, promotion, termination, and/or retirement based on gender identity or expression, marital status, pregnancy, political affiliation, union membership, or veteran status or socioeconomic background.

Committee

Become a Trustee

Springwood Community Centre is run by a committee on behalf of Havant Borough Council. We are currently looking for new committee members who will become Trustees to join us. Meetings are usually held on a Tuesday morning every other month.

If you are aged 18 or over and are able to give up one or two hours for the meetings, then we would love to hear from you. Please use out contact form.
